Q: Can I use the Sargent PF-200 with my lithium battery? A: Yes, the PF-200 is fine for short-term use or to bring the battery to nearly full charge. However, the system charges at 13.8V, which will only bring the battery to around 90-95% capacity. For complete charging, we recommend using a system that charges at 14.4V to ensure the battery is fully charged and the BMS can accurately track the State of Charge (SOC).

Q: Can I use the Schaudt WA 121525 with lithium batteries? A: Yes, this DC to DC charger is lithium-compatible. You can find the user manual here.

Q: Can I use the Fogstar Drift with a PX300 Sargent Charger? A: Yes, Fogstar Drift batteries are compatible with Sargent PX300 chargers, which charge at 14.4V bulk and 13.6V float, ideal for our batteries.

Q: Does my system require a fuse?
A: We strongly recommend adding a fuse to your system. While the BMS will protect against overcurrent, the fuse serves as an additional safety measure and acts as your last line of defense.

The fuse helps protect the cable from overcurrent and short circuits.

It is important that the fuse is rated around 20% lower than the maximum load rating of the cable it is protecting.

Alternator Set-Ups

For motorhomes with dedicated high-current domestic alternators, consider the following:

• A2B (Alternator to Battery) Chargers with a lithium setting.
• B2B (Battery to Battery) Chargers, but these require a lead-acid buffer battery.
• External Alternator Regulators like Wakespeed with lithium settings offer the most cost-effective solution and provide the best output from your alternator.
